On The Sauce

Have you ever held a job that you couldn’t stand? Long hours, insufferable co-workers, and an overbearing boss? Take that and add a few more details (such as internal embezzlement and manslaughter coverups) and you have my last job.

With the economy failing and the job market at a standstill, I was too petrified to quit. I spent eighteen months of my life compromising my own personal integrity in order to collect a paycheck. The entire experience was a living, breathing soap opera centered around one thing: pizza. My job was as an office manager for a pizza franchise.

Instead of internalizing my contempt for the situation, I took to my laptop and wrote a novel about my experience. On The Sauce: A Cautionary Tale of Being Burned by the Pizza Industry is my story.

I put my experiences down on paper in order to help others who are in the same situation to prove that there is light at the end of the proverbial tunnel and that there is a life after even the worst jobs. On the other hand, business owners of all sizes can benefit with this ‘what not to do’.

Currently shopping the manuscript to agents and publishers, I am also looking into e-book publishing. For more information on my story or to read a sample, please do not hesitate to e-mail me at evanpay@gmail.com.
